Multiple Teams · Chi-Chi Nwankwo becomes 5A BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPION!


Over the weekend, Foster wrestlers competed in the UIL State Wrestling Tournament.  Foster Senior Nkechinyere (Chi-Chi) Nwankwo entered the 2016 season as the 2015 State Champion and her goal was to achieve nothing less but gold again in 2016.  She did just that!

Going 46-0 for the season earned her a BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congrats to Chi-Chi and the entire wrestling team on their accomplishments this year!

Other noteable winners were:

Chidoze “Dot” Nwankwo earned a third place bronze medal in the Class 5A boys 285-pound division

Journi Goodman took seventh place in state. Marisol Romo, Valarie Desai, and Khorey Dakers were all top 11 wrestlers in their weight classes.

Overall, the girls team finished 9th overall in State as a team and the boys finished 25th overall.
