4/10: Foster (17) vs. Terry (0)
Kacie Pryor threw a shutout to lead Foster Varsity Softball past Terry High School 17-0 on Tuesday.
Bria Tovar collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Foster Varsity Softball to victory. Tovar singled in the third, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth. Foster Varsity Softball tallied seven runs in the fourth inning. Alexis Moran, Amanda Allen, CiCi Mata, Tovar, and Pryor powered the big inning with RBIs. Pryor was the winning pitcher for Foster Varsity Softball. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out 12. Foster Varsity Softball totaled 20 hits. Tovar, Kaitlyn Reinecke, Pryor, Moran, Allen, Kylie Neel, Leea Dempsey, and Alyssa Muceus all collected multiple hits for Foster Varsity Softball.
4/13: Foster (16) vs. Victoria East (0)
Kacie Pryor didn’t allow a single hit as Foster Varsity Softball defeated Victoria East 16-0 on Friday. To get the final out Pryor struck out #14. Foster Varsity Softball secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the first inning. Foster Varsity Softball offense in the inning was led by Pryor, Kylie Neel, Alyssa Muceus, Amanda Allen, Kaitlyn Reinecke, and Pryor, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. In the first inning, Foster Varsity Softball got their offense started when Pryor singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Pryor was the winning pitcher for Foster Varsity Softball. She went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out nine and walking one. Foster Varsity Softball racked up 21 hits on the day. Pryor, Leea Dempsey, CiCi Mata, Neel, Reinecke, Muceus, and Sierra Toman each managed multiple hits for Foster Varsity Softball. Pryor led Foster Varsity Softball with four hits in four at bats. Foster Varsity Softball was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
4/10: Foster (16) vs. Terry (0)
Jordan Lesak threw a shutout to lead Falcons JV past Terry 16-0 on Tuesday. Falcons JV got things moving in the first inning. Falcons JV notched five runs in the fourth inning. Falcons JV batters contributing to the big inning included Taylor Clark, Camdyn Borhani, Rayne Athaus, and Kenzie Layman, all driving in runs in the frame. Lesak was the winning pitcher for Falcons JV. She allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
#5 took the loss for Terry. She went two and a third innings, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and walking zero. Falcons JV tallied 16 hits in the game. Deasisa (Dee) Davenport, Lesak, Layman, Bailey Johnson, and Borhani all had multiple hits for Falcons JV. Davenport led Falcons JV with four hits in four at bats. Falcons JV didn’t commit a single error in the field.
4/13: Foster (1) vs. Victoria East (5)
Falcons JV opened up scoring in the first inning. Kenzie Layman drove in one when she singled.
Victoria East pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. Layman led things off on the hill for Falcons JV. She allowed four hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings. Deasisa (Dee) Davenport, Caroline O’Driscoll, and Layman each collected one hit to lead Falcons JV.
Softball plays their last week of district games this week with a road trip to Angleton on 4/17 and finishing at home vs. Lamar on 4/20 for Senior Night. JV games start at 5:00 and Varsity at 6:30.
4/10: Foster (8) vs. Terry (0)
Foster Falcon Varsity defeated Terry 8-0 on Tuesday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brandon Naivar struck out Luis Garcia to finish off the game. Foster Falcon Varsity secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. Foster Falcon Varsity big bats were led by Cade Sitka, Austin McDade, Zach Schroeder, Colt Terpstra, and Hunter Genenbacher, all driving in runs in the frame. Foster Falcon Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Sitka singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Matthew O’Driscoll took the win for Foster Falcon Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out five and walking zero. Tate Hackler, Jacob Flores, and Naivar all put in work on the pitcher’s mound in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Genenbacher went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Foster Falcon Varsity in hits.
4/13: Foster (7) vs. Victoria East (5)
Foster Falcon Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over Victoria East on Friday. The game was tied at four with Foster Falcon Varsity batting in the bottom of the sixth when Quinton Oliver tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Connor Korczynski was the winning pitcher for Foster Falcon Varsity. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero. Cade Sitka threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Zach Limas recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Foster Falcon Varsity.
Limas started the game for Foster Falcon Varsity. He surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Foster Falcon Varsity tallied 11 hits. Limas and Oliver each managed two hits to lead Foster Falcon Varsity.
JV Gold Baseball
4/10: Foster JV Gold (9) vs. Terry (3)
Foster Falcons JV blew out Terry Rangers JV 9-3 on Tuesday. Foster Falcons JV got things started in the first inning when Nick Mota tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Foster Falcons JV scored three runs in the second inning. Foster Falcons JV big bats were led by Clay Godwin, Brendan Genenbacher, and Chase Albright, all driving in runs in the frame. John Downer led the Foster Falcons JV to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out two. Godwin threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Godwin recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV tallied nine hits on the day. Walker Ashley and Mota each racked up multiple hits for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Logan Stanton led the way with four.
4/13: Foster (8) vs. Victoria East (7)
Foster Falcons JV took the lead late in the game in an 8-7 victory over Victoria East Titans JV on Friday. The game was tied at seven with Foster Falcons JV batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV built a five-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Victoria East Titans JV’s charge. Foster Falcons JV scored four runs in the third inning. Nick Mota and Sean Kelly all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. John Downer earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Foster Falcons JV. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. Walker Ashley led Foster Falcons JV with two hits in two at bats.
