Varsity Softball – Round 1 Playoffs
4/27: Foster (12) vs. SA Brackenridge (0)
Kacie Pryor threw a gem on Thursday for Foster Falcons Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Brackenridge by a score of 12-0. Foster Falcons Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Foster Falcons Varsity. Foster Falcons Varsity notched four runs in the third inning. Amanda Allen, Bria Tovar, and Pryor all drove in runs in the frame. Pryor pitched Foster Falcons Varsity to victory. She allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out 14 and walking zero. Foster Falcons Varsity totaled 13 hits. Cici Mata, Kylie Neel, Leea Dempsey, and Pryor each had multiple hits for Foster Falcons Varsity. Mata went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Foster Falcons Varsity in hits.
Your Lady Falcons are Bi-District champs! They will face Dripping Springs in Round 2 in a “best of three” game series on Thursday, 5/3, Friday, 5/4, and Saturday, 5/5 (if necessary). 4/27: Foster (5) vs. Fulshear (3)
Foster Falcon Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Fulshear 5-3 on Friday. The game was tied at three with Foster Falcon Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Zach Schroeder singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. In the first inning, Foster Falcon Varsity got their offense started. Austin McDade drew a walk, scoring one run. Tate Hackler was the winning pitcher for Foster Falcon Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out two and walking zero. Matthew O’Driscoll and Connor Korczynski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Korczynski recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Foster Falcon Varsity. Cade Sitka started the game for Foster Falcon Varsity. He allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Schroeder led Foster Falcon Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Foster Falcon Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
4/24: Foster (9) vs. Victoria West (0)
Foster Falcon Varsity defeated Victoria West 9-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Connor Korczynski struck out #26 to finish off the game. Foster Falcon Varsity secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Foster Falcon Varsity was led by Zach Limas and Zach Schroeder, who all drove in runs. Foster Falcon Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Walker Bordovsky threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Foster Falcon Varsity. Foster Falcon Varsity notched six runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by by Limas and a double by Schroeder. Limas took the win for Foster Falcon Varsity. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Matthew O’Driscoll and Korczynski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Foster Falcon Varsity had eight hits in the game. Schroeder and Sitka each managed two hits to lead Foster Falcon Varsity. Foster Falcon Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

JV Gold Baseball
4/27: Foster JV Gold (7) vs. Fulshear (1)
Foster Falcons JV’s three pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as Foster Falcons JV defeated Fulshear 7-1 on Friday. Jake Capel induced a groundout from #11 to get the last out of the game. Foster Falcons JV secured the victory thanks to four runs in the sixth inning. Foster Falcons JV scored its runs on an RBI grand slam by Nick Mota. Foster Falcons JV got on the board in the second inning when an error scored one run for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV notched four runs in the sixth inning. Foster Falcons JV scored its runs on a grand slam by Mota. Clay Godwin led the Foster Falcons JV to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out four. John Downer and Capel entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Downer recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Foster Falcons JV. Mota led Foster Falcons JV with two hits in three at bats.
4/24: Foster (7) vs. Victoria West (0)
Foster Falcons JV defeated Victoria West 7-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Clay Godwin got #11 to hit into a fielder’s choice to finish off the game. Foster Falcons JV got things started in the first inning when Nick Mota’s sac fly scored one run for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Foster Falcons JV batters contributing to the big inning included Ryan Balusek and Cole Krenek, who all drove in runs. Jake Capel took the win for Foster Falcons JV. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out four and walking zero. Balusek and Godwin entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Foster Falcons JV tallied eight hits on the day. Ryan Stubblefield and Chase Albright each had two hits for Foster Falcons JV. Foster Falcons JV didn’t commit a single error in the field.

TEXAS 5A BOYS REGION IV CHAMPS!
- The 4×400 Relay of Cobbin, Badmus, Williams, and Wise are you REGIONAL CHAMPIONS and headed to STATE!! Congrats!
- 400m REGIONAL CHAMPION Tolu Badmus
- Chris Wise and Collin Williams on the medal stand!
- Wesley Asenuga set the Region 4 5A MEET RECORD with a 10.65 in the 100m!
- Chris Wise gets 2nd in the 800m and qualifies for STATE and Collin Williams finished 3rd with personal record in an amazing race! Congrats, men!
- The 4×100 relay of Smith, Asenuga, Badmus, and Young place 2nd in the region and qualify for STATE with a new school record of 41.39!
- CONGRATS to Amryn Williams on getting 2nd in Triple Jump & being the first Falcon to qualify for STATE with a personal record jump of 45’11 and 3/4” on his final attempt.
- Congrats to Caden Cunningham on a great race in the Regional Final of the 3200m. Came in with the 13th best time and finished 11th as a Freshman!

5/27-28 Region Meet:
- 800m: Ife Chris-Rotimi for her awesome PR of 2:15 & 3rd place finish in the Region 4 5A championships! Congrats to Katie Wise on her finish & time of 2:30. Way to compete ladies!
- Congrats to Maddie Ellis on a personal record in the 1600m – 5:33 at Regional’s isn’t too bad for your first year in distance!
