Multiple Teams · Football Weekly Newsletter: Hightower Week: 11/5-11/9, 2018

With the time change and all the weather changes, it must mean that football playoffs are coming!  One thing is for sure, we are at the end of the regular season for all teams.  I have seen so much growth in all of our teams this season and I couldn’t be prouder of all the players.  Playing football is not easy, and playing winning football isn’t any easier.  It has been a great season, but we have 1 more week to go before we begin the playoffs.

With the win vs. Texas City, we have clinched a spot in the Texas High School Playoffs!  This is actually Foster’s 7th consecutive year in the playoffs.  A win vs. Hightower gets us the 3rd seed.  A loss will get us the 4th.  Our opponent could be either Port Arthur Memorial or New Caney.  We will know more Thursday night!  All the details for the first round of playoffs will be given once determined.

Attached is an order from for the 2018 Football Playoff T-shirts. Each shirt is $20 and is a long-sleeve black cotton shirt.  The varsity roster is on the back.  It is not a requirement to buy a shirt, but a nice option for you and the family.

Any football player interested in trying out for football must come to the football player try-outs on Friday, 11/9 after school and in the morning of Saturday, 11/10.  For more information regarding basketball try-outs, please email Coach Fatheree at

After the season and playoffs are over, we begin what is called football off-season which prepares our players for the upcoming spring season, summer, and next football season.  We prepare them through organized strength, speed, and conditioning training, as well as, teamwork lessons and player development.  We also encourage all of our players to play multiple sports such as wrestling, basketball, baseball, and track.  I will get more in-depth on what the plan is after the playoffs, but football season never truly ends!

Thanks again for everything you all do for the players and coaches.  It has been a great season and I’m excited for our future!
