Falcons News · Football Weekly Newsletter: Hightower Week: Nov. 4-9, 2019

Parents,

Falcons won, Texans won, and if the New York Football Giants can pull out the win on Monday night, it will be a great weekend!

It is unbelievable to think that we are in the final week of the regular season for football.  These few months have flown by!  The best thing about the regular season is PLAYOFF time!  We are fortunate again for the 8th year in a row to be in the Texas High School football playoffs. With the win over Texas City, we have secured either the 3rd or 4th spot in our district.  With a win over Hightower this week, we will be 3rd place. We want to be 3rd!

NEWS AND NOTES

SENIOR NIGHT ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7

This Thursday’s game vs. Hightower is designated as our Senior night.  It is our night to recognize each one of our seniors and give them love and appreciation for all they have done for Foster football and the school.  We are asking that parents and siblings who wish to walk and be honored with their player arrive at the stadium by 6:15 pm.  The ceremony will most likely begin around 6:30/6:35 pm.  The ceremony will consist of a walk with your player, a wave to the crowd, and an opportunity to take a family picture.  I have attached the picture order form for those that wish to take a family picture.  If you are coming, I am giving each of your players a gate pass to get you on the field for the ceremony.  Please ask them for it.  The gate pass is not free admission to the game.  You will still need to buy a ticket to the game and I highly suggest buying your ticket early so you don’t have to wait in line.  Tickets can be bought in the front office or online at https://gofan.co/app/school/TX13113.

2019 PLAYOFF T-SHIRT ORDER

Attached is the 2019 Playoff T-shirt order form.  Each playoff shirt is $20 and features the varsity football roster on the back. The form is due Wednesday, Nov. 6 to the front office or Coach McDowell only!  Cash is preferred, but checks can be made out to FHS #14.  Shirts will be handed out at lunches on Wednesday, Nov. 13th. Get yours today!

BLACK AND GOLD BASH SET FOR JAN. 25TH

The annual Black &Gold Bash is set for January 25th and will have live music this year! We are looking for some coordinators for team baskets to donate to the Bash Silent Auction from football. We have put one in from each level in the past–Freshman, JV, Varsity. Please contact Kim Kelly if you would like to handle one these for us and she will get you in touch with the Auction Chairperson. kimkelly64@hotmail.com

PLAYOFF SCOUT TEAM

Starting Monday, 11/11, we will be asking sub-varsity players to continue to practice with the varsity and act as our scout team.  It is a great way for younger players to continue to get reps and practice at the speed of varsity.  We will be asking numerous players to stay practicing with varsity and will not turn any kids away.

Thanks again for letting us coach your sons and let’s finish this regular season with some wins!

GO FALCONS!
